Advocacy Update

Hello all!
As you know in the last Congressional session about 80 judges were appointed, including one woman of color to the Supreme Court and many other women and people of color to the federal court. The Inflation Reduction Act aimed to curb inflation by reducing the deficit, lowering prescription drug prices, funding the IRS, and making the single largest investment towards tackling the climate crisis.  A bipartisan infrastructure bill was also passed.  The new Congressional session will try to reverse many of these achievements, as well as to hold the government hostage when the debt ceiling is reached.

We would like to keep our members abreast of what is happening out there in the world of NCJW Advocacy so that you can participate in the things that interest you.

NCJW has added economic justice to its list of priorities for the next year, along with abortion access and reproductive justice, voting rights, and judicial appointments.

Thank you all for living up to our principles of progressive activism in the service of justice in the United States and the world.
